About the Role

We are seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in WordPress development, theme customization, plugin integration, and website optimization. You will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and enhancing WordPress websites that are fast, secure, and user-friendly while ensuring optimal performance and functionality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites from concept to completion
• Create custom WordPress themes and modify existing themes to meet design specifications
• Integrate and customize WordPress plugins to extend site functionality
• Collaborate with designers to implement responsive and pixel-perfect designs
• Optimize website performance, speed, and SEO
• Ensure websites are secure, regularly updated, and backed up
• Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, bugs, and technical problems
• Implement and manage WordPress multisite installations when required
• Integrate third-party APIs and services (payment gateways, CRMs, marketing tools)
• Perform website migrations, updates, and maintenance tasks
• Conduct cross-browser and device testing to ensure compatibility
• Provide technical support and training to clients or team members
• Stay updated with WordPress core updates, security patches, and best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

WordPress Expertise

• Strong proficiency in WordPress development (3+ years experience)
• Expert knowledge of WordPress core, themes, plugins, and customization
• Experience with popular page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, Divi, Gutenberg)
• Understanding of WordPress coding standards and best practices
• Knowledge of WordPress REST API and custom post types
• Experience with WooCommerce development and customization
• Familiarity with WordPress multisite setup and management

Technical Skills

• Front-End Development:
  
  • Advanced HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
  • Proficiency in responsive design and mobile-first approach
  • Experience with CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS)
  • Knowledge of jQuery and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Familiarity with preprocessors (SASS/LESS)
• Back-End Development:
  
  • Strong PHP programming skills
  • MySQL database management and optimization
  • Experience with custom plugin development
  • Knowledge of WordPress hooks (actions and filters)
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Development Tools:
  
  • Version control with Git/GitHub
  • Local development environments (XAMPP, Local by Flywheel, Docker)
  • FTP/SFTP clients (FileZilla, Cyberduck)
  • Browser developer tools and debugging

Performance & Security

• Website speed optimization and caching strategies
• Experience with CDN integration (Cloudflare, etc.)

• SSL certificate installation and HTTPS implementation

• Experience with security plugins (Wordfence, Sucuri)

SEO & Analytics

• On-page SEO implementation and optimization
• Schema markup and structured data

Qualifications

• Experience with headless WordPress and JAMstack architecture
